When Accountability Information Management, Inc., www.a-i-m.com, a unique research company, was challenged by one of their clients with finding people who purchased a certain product, they realized quickly that there was no one in the two-step distribution business that would provide them or sell them a list of these buyers. “Nor could you send in people to interview consumers in their homes where this product was installed, even if you could find them,” said Jim Nowakowski, President of AIM “Yet, we knew of secret shopper companies, so we hatched out an alternative strategy: tap the secret shoppers themselves for our research.
